Prophet Salih (AS) was sent by Allah to the people of Thamud, who lived in beautiful carved homes but were proud and disobedient. He called them to worship Allah alone. As a sign, Allah sent them a special she-camel, but they killed it despite warnings. Because of their sin, a terrible earthquake destroyed them.
