Macbeth, a brave Scottish general, hears a prophecy from three witches that he will become king. Urged by his ambitious wife, he murders King Duncan and takes the throne. To secure his power, he kills Banquo and others, but guilt and paranoia consume him. Lady Macbeth dies, and Macbeth faces rebellion. In the final battle, Macduff kills him, and Malcolm becomes king of Scotland.
