"The Adventures of Pinocchio" is a classic Italian children’s novel written by Carlo Collodi and first published in 1883. It tells the story of a wooden puppet named Pinocchio who dreams of becoming a real boy. The story is known for its moral lessons, especially around truth, obedience, and the consequences of one’s actions. Over the years, it has become one of the most translated and adapted stories in world literature, with the most famous adaptation being the 1940 Disney animated film.

Pinocchio is a wooden puppet carved by a poor carpenter named Geppetto. Miraculously, Pinocchio comes to life, but he is mischievous, curious, and often disobedient. He dreams of becoming a real boy but constantly finds himself in trouble because of his poor choices and gullibility. Throughout his journey, he encounters various characters—some kind and helpful, like the Blue Fairy, who acts as a guide and protector, and some deceitful, like the Fox and the Cat, who lead him astray. Each time Pinocchio tells a lie, his nose grows longer, teaching him (and the reader) the value of honesty. After facing many hardships, learning valuable lessons, and showing acts of bravery and selflessness—especially when he saves Geppetto from danger—Pinocchio is finally rewarded. The Blue Fairy transforms him into a real human boy.
