Prophet Hud was sent by Allah to guide the people of ʿĀd, a powerful tribe known for building tall buildings and being very strong. But the people became arrogant, worshipped idols, and ignored Allah's commands. Hud warned them many times to stop their bad ways and worship only Allah. He reminded them that their strength and wealth came from Allah. But they laughed at him and refused to listen. As a punishment for their pride and disbelief, Allah sent a terrible windstorm that lasted several days. It destroyed everything, leaving no one behind except the believers who had followed Prophet Hud. They were saved.
